01 CUSTOM & OEM DEVELOPMENT

Custom Sensory Toy Development for Brands

Turn your idea — a sketch, a reference, a hand-feel — into a buyer-ready sensory toy. KLS Sensory coordinates the production partner, tooling and sampling so you hold one accountable contact.

02 DEVELOPMENT SCOPE

Every element of the product,
coordinated.

Each area below is confirmed against your brief and the selected construction — nothing is assumed or templated.

01

Shape

New molds for silhouettes that belong to your brand, or adaptation of proven forms.

02

Shell & fill

Soft, gel, bead-clay and crisp constructions matched to the hand-feel you specify.

03

Color

Brand and seasonal color matching across shell, tint and multi-color SKUs.

04

Texture & sound

Surface finish and sound response tuned to the tactile or ASMR brief.

05

Logo & packaging

Branding and retail packaging coordinated with the product as one unit.

06

Sampling & QC

Pre-production samples and inspection checkpoints before bulk production.

03 FROM CONCEPT TO PRODUCTION

One process,
six checkpoints.

Custom development is project dependent, so we map each stage to your brief and sign off at every checkpoint. You never hand off your concept and lose sight of it.

Send your concept
  1. 01
    Concept brief

Shape, feel, target cost, quantity, market and delivery window.

  2. 02
    Feasibility & scope

Construction, material and tooling options mapped to the brief.

  3. 03
    Prototype

First physical prototype for shape, weight, closure and hand-feel review.

  4. 04
    Sample approval

Revised pre-production sample signed off against the approved standard.

  5. 05
    Production

Bulk run with agreed checkpoints and production follow-up.

  6. 06
    QC & shipping

Optional pre-shipment inspection and document coordination.

04 SAMPLE & QUALITY

Approve the feel,
not just the render.

A physical sample is the contract — shell, fill, closure and function confirmed before production.

Sampling & inspection

We coordinate prototype and pre-production samples and define inspection checkpoints — seam strength, leakage, odor, recovery, color and repeated-squeeze review — against the approved sample. Optional third-party pre-shipment inspection is available on request.

06 FAQ

Custom development
questions, answered.

What does OEM sensory toy development mean for a brand like mine?

It means you define the product — shape, feel, color and packaging — and KLS Sensory coordinates the production partner, tooling and sampling to bring that specification to market.

Can I start from my own sketch or reference product?

Yes. Sketches, dimensions and reference products are the usual starting point. We use them to scope the shape, construction, material and target cost before any mold work begins.

What is the MOQ for a custom sensory toy?

MOQ is project dependent. New-mold projects typically carry a higher MOQ than adapting an existing construction. We reconfirm the number after reviewing your concept.

Do you charge for mold development?

Custom molds are typically a separate, project-dependent cost. We scope mold investment, prototype rounds and sample stages as part of the quotation so there are no surprises.

How do I protect my design?

We work from your brief and reference materials and coordinate with a matched production partner. For IP-sensitive projects, we can advise on limiting artwork disclosure and on confidentiality arrangements before sampling.

Can you handle both the product and the packaging?

Yes. Product development and packaging — polybags, hang tags, color boxes and display formats — are coordinated together so the finished unit is retail-ready.

How long does a custom sensory toy take to develop?

Timing is project dependent. Prototype and sample revision rounds are typically the longest stages; we map checkpoints once your concept and target market are confirmed.
